Dr Richard Chen-Yang
B.Chiro, MNZCA
Dr. Richard Chen-Yang was born and raised in Kaitaia before moving to Auckland for high school at Westlake Boys. He later earned his Diploma of Applied Science from AUT and his Bachelor of Chiropractic from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic.
Trained in martial arts from a young age by his father, Dr. Richard developed a deep appreciation for precision, discipline, and fine-tuning movement. This passion led him to healthcare, where he discovered the ‘art’ of chiropractic—a profession that combines science, technique, and the ability to help people live life at their best.
Initially, Dr. Richard believed he was in peak health—free from symptoms, active, and physically strong. However, after undergoing his first chiropractic assessment, he was humbled by the results. Seeing firsthand how the spine impacted his overall function, he began to rethink what true health really meant. This realisation solidified his belief that chiropractic is for everyone, regardless of age or symptoms, because optimal function goes beyond simply feeling pain-free.
Dr. Richard understands that true health is achieved from within—through proper movement, quality nutrition, and overall well-being. Rather than masking symptoms, chiropractic care optimises the body’s natural ability to heal and function without the intervention of surgery or drugs.
Committed to continuous learning, Dr. Richard regularly attends seminars to refine his skills. He lives by the philosophy of “Take what is useful, discard what is not, and make it uniquely your own”—striving to improve by 1% every day.
To stay at his best, Dr. Richard receives weekly chiropractic adjustments, trains at the gym, and stays active. As a proud Chinese Kiwi, he is fluent in English and speaks basic Mandarin. He is passionate about helping people reach their personal goals, walk alongside their health journey, and unlock their full potential through exceptional chiropractic care.

Dr Kelly studied business at the University of Waikato, and is a past President of the Australian Spinal Research Foundation and Board member for over ten years. The last few years have seen him traveling extensively worldwide to promote and grow chiropractic, and he has inspired many people to pursue a chiropractic career.
Dr. Kelly has led several chiropractic outreach trips to India taking care of some of the poorest people in the world. In India he has spoken to audiences of over a million people. He is committed to seeing people and the profession achieve its highest potential. His outstanding contribution has been recognized by his peers and community through his numerous professional awards. He has held various leadership positions in the profession including being on the Board of Trustees at NZCC for 9 years and is currently the Chairman of the Stakeholders Advisory Committee of NZCC.
Laurence uses a range of chiropractic techniques, both manual and low-force. As Laurence says “I love educating people about the role chiropractic can play in creating a healthy life.
Basically we as a human species need 3 things to be healthy; Good biomechanics (how well you move, stand, sit, sleep), good neurology (how well your brain and nerve system work to control every aspect of your life – physically, mentally and emotionally), and good biochemistry (are you getting the essential nutrients that we as a species need to live well)
Chiropractic enhances the first 2 beautifully and we can teach you about number 3.”
