Magic in March

We firstly want to thank you all for taking the time to read this. We at Mt Eden Chiropractic know that without you, our fabulous patients we would not be here to serve you, and our fabulous community. We want to take the time today to give you some tips on how to live life to the fullest and realize your individual full potential.

Back to Basics

When it comes to taking care of ourselves, there can be many things people are telling us we should be doing. Quite often we just need to head back to the basics. Today we want to talk about drinking water. Yes, the good stuff. Being properly hydrated will help your body to function better. Every cell in our body needs water to function. This helps the body to remove toxins, lubricate joints and help our nervous system to function at it’s best. We all know how important water is but most of us are not getting enough. Many times when our stomach grumbles and we may think we are hungry, quite often we are in need of a large glass of water!  One way to try and help yourself is to take a water bottle with you wherever you go. This will also help you monitor the amount of water you are having in a day. If you do not like the taste of plain water add a slice of lemon or a few leaves of fresh mint! Being aware of your daily water intake can help you be a better you. Also, don’t forget to have water before and after your adjustments!

Nourish your Body

We are now getting back into the swing of things. Already into March many are asking where the time has gone, and summer too for that matter! The kids are back in school and we are adjusting to normal life’s rhythm. Don’t forget about yourself during this time. Life can be stressful with obligations but we wanted to share a few tips to help you feel better. One would be to make sure you are getting plenty of water, as mentioned above. When we drink too many caffeinated drinks, be it coffee, fizzy drinks, or tea, we are doing a disservice to our bodies. This can lead to muscle tension, headaches from dehydration and daily dependence on caffeine. Another thing that we can do to help ourselves is trying to eat more whole foods. Eating less processed foods like fast foods, and packaged foods will help us to feel better. When eating try to have vegetables be about ¾ of your plate and the last ¼ a healthy lean protein. Try to eat the colour of the rainbow when it comes to vegetables too. Having something of each colour will help us to get all the essential vitamins and minerals we need to function at our best. Take time to stretch and exercise. Even a half hour walk after dinner can be helpful, and who knows you might sleep better too!

If you are trying to implement these things in your daily life we applaud you! Let us help you and your co-workers by having one of our Doctors come into your work place and give a health and wellness talk. We mostly focus on stress, it’s contributing factors, and how you can help yourself and your family to tap into your inner power and reach your full potential. This is a great opportunity to share with co-workers, take a little time out from the day, have lunch brought to you, and learn some new things! Family and Friends Day Saturday March 16th

We want to remind you all that we are having our Family and Friends day on Saturday March 16th. This is the time to share chiropractic care with loved ones. As many of you know seeing the chiropractor regularly can help with stress, improve your energy levels and life’s enjoyment. Our bodies are amazing in that the spinal cord and nerves are so vital to life and it’s quality. When we have subluxations we are not allowing the spinal cord and nerve to speak correctly to the brain and parts of the body. This may be interpreted as stress or another symptom such as pain, poor quality of sleep or gut issues. The main objective of chiropractic care is not to rid you of these symptoms but allow the body to heal itself through adjusting the spine and getting rid of subluxations. Our bodies will then have more energy flowing through them we are better able to express our true selves.  When we have less subluxations in the spine we are allowing ourselves, body and brain, to reach that full potential. If you want to share this with a friend or loved one now is the time. We are running a special offer for a new patient introductory visit. What would normally cost $260, we are offering, on this day only, for $89. All proceeds raised this day will go to chiropractic research. Our team are giving their time to help those close to us. So don’t wait, spaces fill up fast! Give us a call and get your friend or loved one booked in today! Give us a call 09.638.8266 or email us at info@mtedenchiro.co.nz

Latest Research helps Stroke Patients

Some amazing chiropractic research has come out recently.
A newly published study has shown that a single session of chiropractic care increased muscle strength and cortical drive in stroke patients who had muscle weakness. This amazing new research has given us light into how we may be able to help those with brain injuries through chiropractic care. Through innovative research we are able to find more evidence of what great things chiropractic care can do. This is another reason why friends and family day is so close to us. It gives us a chance to raise funds to allow more research like this to happen, and be able to change lives around the world.
